Thank you for that article. My mom and I always get into arguments because she doesn't think I drink enough water. In fact, she forces me to drink a 8 oz. water almost every hour. I hope I can this will help me reason with her.

Nice article. Water is very much necessary but I cannot drink 8 cups of water daily. I am surprised to hear that intake of water helps to gain weight.

Peter,
Did you read the article? I didn't write an article about body fat. I wrote an article telling you that there is no proof that drinking 8 glasses of water a day is good for you. I am talking about potential issues of low electrolyte levels and taxing your kidneys. Furthermore, your body is quite good at letting you know you need to drink. It is simply not true that if I am thirsty I am dehydrated! Dehydration is a serious issue to your body. This is only the case in say a hiking situation where you don't want to wait until your body is thristy to drink because of the hot sun and you are working out.

Terrible article. So what if you drink a lot of water and gain weight, it's only water you've gained. You should be concerned with your %fat of your weight.

If the same person weighed 200 pounds and 5% body fat he would look and be in better shape than the same person who weighed 190 with 30% body fat.

Also when you are thirsty, this means your body is already dehydrated. You should never let your body get to this point.
